There was a considerable uproar over the disaffiliation of nearly all of the Independent Affiliate groups of the Unitarian Universalist Assocation last year. Various people and factions read all sorts of different hidden agendas into the move, everything from a power grab by the Board to an attempt to prevent polygamists from taking over the denomination. Perhaps stung by the level of backlash, the UUA Board has been slowly reevaluating the IAs and admitting a small but growing number back into the fold, provided that they meet a more stringent set of guidelines.
Today’s question is:
What is the group that has most recently been re-admitted with Independent Affiliate status? Hint: it just happened about two months ago.
Note: this is a large and decades-old group, so it probably won’t take too long for the answer to be given. But your Transient and Permanent blog host is on the road today, so the official winner and answer may not be announced until tonight.
